Go Braugh!
Welcome to the 43rd Annual
St. Patrick’s Festival of Dublin-Laurens County, Inc., which is a
month long celebration of family fun. Our festival Festivities will
start on February 16, 2008 and continue through March 30, 2008.
This
Festival is like no other. It is produced by hundreds of
volunteers, civic clubs and individuals who work tirelessly to
provide a family atmosphere that is top notch. You can see this
community come together not only during the Festival, but all year
long.
The
Festival began in 1966 through the work of local radio station WMLT
and the local newspaper, The Courier Herald. In 1970, the festival
was incorporated and has grown from a local event to a major area
attraction. It has been voted one of the Top 20 Events in the
southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Events
range from Arts and Crafts to the BalloonFest to Pancakes!! The
Festival has grown so large it is a challenge to be able to attend
every event. Each event is accompanied by a personal, heartfelt
welcome of this fantastic community. If you can’t attend every
event throughout the month, be sure to mark your calendar for March
15th, which is Super Saturday. This day will feature
such events as the St. Patrick’s Parade, Arts & Crafts Festival,
Gospel Sing, Leprechaun Road Race, Quilt Show, Main Street Munchies
and much, much more. You will find something suitable for every
member of your family.
